JoAnn Chávez is the founder and CEO of the Michigan Hispanic Collaborative (MiHC), a nonprofit advancing economic equity and college success for first-generation students. A retired senior executive from DTE Energy, she has also served as an international tax partner at KPMG.


Chávez serves on the Invest Detroit, Kalamazoo College, and Tiffin University boards and on the Notre Dame Law School Advisory Council. Recognized by Forbes 50 Over 50 and Crain’s Detroit 100 Most Influential Women, she proudly champions opportunity for underserved communities, rooted in her Mexican heritage and life experience.
