What is Adelante Michigan?

Adelante Michigan is a FREE program that focuses on providing Hispanic small business owners with their needs. It started in Lincoln Park and will expand throughout the State of Michigan. The program provides technical assistance and essential resources to businesses in their existing or initial stages, in both Spanish and English.

With the support of our non-profit organizations, Michigan Hispanic Fund (MHF) and Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (MHCC), the purpose is to help small businesses grow profitably and become more sustainable, offering:

Basic elements for starting a business.
Technical assistance and training to obtain funding, loans, etc.
Training in business skills.
Opportunities for networking and relationship building with other businesses and entrepreneurs.

In Michigan, the Hispanic population has been steadily growing, Between 2010 and 2020, the Hispanic population increased by 18%, vs. 2% of population in the US.

Hispanic entrepreneurs have been playing an increasingly significant role in Michigan's economy by creating jobs, preserving culture, investing in community development, and inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.

The growth rate in Hispanic self-employment in Michigan over the past 5 years is 43%. compared to 8% for non-Hispanics in Michigan and 8% across the US.

Grand Rapids leads the way in the state with a 106% growth in Hispanic self-employment. This growth is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit and resilience of the Hispanic community. (source: American Community Survey 2021 & Bureau of Labor Statistics).
